I am an enthusiastic Civil/Geotechnical Engineer, who possesses a comprehensive understanding of all technical aspects of Civil Engineering. Software development and analysis of climatic and financial data are my main professional interests.
I started my tertiary education in the Civil Engineering Department of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2003, where I received my M.Sc. degree in 2009. Although I majored in Geotechnics, my studies offered me a solid theoretical background on structural, hydraulic and highway engineering. During my master’s project I worked on the assessment of reliability of climatic models based on comparisons with historical time series, using state-of-the-art statistical tools.
Subsequently, I joined the Hydrology and Water Resources Management group within the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich), pursuing my PhD. The main focus of my PhD was the hydrological modelling of slope stability, investigating the interactions between surface and subsurface hydrology and landslides initiation. During my PhD I focused on hydrological modelling and unsaturated soil mechanics and I developed key skills in numerical modelling and programming.
Currently I am working at CUBUS AG, a Swiss company based in Zurich, which develops software for structural and geotechnical engineering.
